# Ted privacy policy

Ted by Mama Studio.

## Who we are

Ted is a Mac app made by Mama Studio. This policy covers the Ted app and this website, tedcoachai.com.

Questions about privacy go to founder@xelron.in.

## The short version

Ted has no account and no sign-up. Your plan, your site times, and your streaks are saved on your Mac. Mama Studio does not receive them, store them, or sell them. If you buy a license, Razorpay handles the payment, and Ted checks your license key with our server.

## What Ted reads on your Mac

- The front browser tab. When Safari or Chrome is the front app, Ted reads the address of the active tab, so it can tell whether a site you listed is open and add time to its clock. It does not read the page, other tabs, your history, or a browser sitting behind another app. macOS asks your permission before Ted can do this.
- Battery and charger. Ted reads the battery level and whether the charger is plugged in, to give battery reminders.
- Headphones. When a Bluetooth audio device connects, Ted can leave one short line. It does not scan for or list nearby devices.
- Network and wake. Ted notices when Wi-Fi comes back and when the Mac wakes from sleep. It does not see what you do on the network.

## What Ted keeps

- Your tasks, your role, the sites you listed and their limits, time counted per day, focus-session minutes, streaks, settings, and which lines it has already shown you.
- All of it is saved in a file on your Mac, in your user Library under Application Support. Nothing is uploaded.

## Calendar and Reminders

Both are off until you tap Connect, and macOS asks your permission for each one. With Calendar, Ted reads the start and end times of today's events so it can stay quiet during meetings and show free time for focus. It never creates, changes, or deletes events. With Reminders, Ted lists your open reminders so you can pick today's tasks from them, and, if you leave that setting on, marks a reminder complete when you finish it in Ted. Nothing from your calendar or reminders leaves your Mac or reaches Mama Studio. You can turn access off in System Settings › Privacy & Security at any time.

## Activity

For break reminders, Ted checks how many seconds have passed since you last used the keyboard, mouse, or trackpad. It does not see what you type or click.

## Update checks

About once a day Ted downloads a small file from our server that says which version is the newest. That request sends nothing about you or your Mac beyond what any web request carries, such as your IP address, which our hosting provider may log for security. If you choose to install an update, Ted downloads it from tedcoachai.com.

## Payments

Payments are processed by Razorpay. When you pay, you give your card details, email, and phone number to Razorpay, not to us, and Razorpay handles them under its own privacy policy. Mama Studio receives the order ID and whether it was paid or refunded, which we use to issue your license key. We can also see the email and phone number you gave Razorpay in our Razorpay dashboard, and we use them only for receipts and support.

## License checks

When you enter your license key, Ted asks tedcoachai.com once whether it's valid. The request carries only the key. Our server looks up the order with Razorpay and answers yes or no. We don't log which Mac asked, and nothing about how you use Ted is sent. After that, Ted remembers the answer and works offline.

## This website

- No account, no tracking cookies, and no advertising or analytics scripts.
- If you buy a license, your license key is saved in your browser so this page can show it again. Clear site data to remove it.
- The tasks you type into the demo stay in your browser tab and disappear when you leave.
- The site is hosted on Google Cloud. Like any web host, it may keep standard server logs, such as IP address, browser type, and the page requested, for security and to keep the site running.
- Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when the page loads.

## Sharing

Mama Studio does not sell, rent, or share your personal information. The only outside services involved are Razorpay for payments and the hosting providers named above.

## Children

Ted is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

## Deleting your data

Quit Ted, move it to the Trash, and delete the Daymark folder in ~/Library/Application Support. To remove your license key, delete the com.daymark.daily entry in Keychain Access. Deleting Ted doesn't delete Razorpay's payment records, which the law requires them and us to keep for a while. Write to us and we'll delete anything else we can.

## Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date. If a change affects what Ted reads or keeps, the app will mention it before it takes effect.
